Smart Cabinet Heating

Dew point-based energy-efficient heating control

Outdoor cabinets used to protect electrical equipment or IT devices often need heating to meet the environmental requirements of the equipment inside. In such cases, a simple solution is to use electric heating with a traditional thermostatic controller.

The exact requirements can be determined based on the manufacturer's specifications of the equipment inside the cabinet. If the primary concern is to protect the equipment from condensation, smart control significantly reduces the energy needed for cabinet heating. By using a heating control solution that takes into account the air humidity, temperature, and the surface temperature of the protected equipment, energy savings of up to 40% can be achieved compared to simple thermostats for outdoor cabinets.
